Housecall Pro vs Kickserv: $149 against $48 for five users, and what Essentials adds
Kickserv is cheaper than Housecall Pro at every team size it publishes, and the gap widens past five users, where Housecall Pro moves you to Max. What Housecall Pro's tiers list that Kickserv's don't, and which shop each one fits.
Kickserv is cheaper at every team size it publishes — $48/mo on annual billing for five users against $149 — and the gap widens past five, where Housecall Pro has to sell you Max at $299. Housecall Pro's case is what its tiers list: flat-rate pricing, a price book, routes and GPS tracking on Essentials, consumer financing from Basic, and a published card rate. For a residential shop that prices flat-rate at the door, that list is the product. For a crew that needs a schedule and an invoice, it is $1,212 a year.
Housecall Pro is built for residential service businesses that sell at the door: price books, flat-rate pricing, financing, review requests. Kickserv is built to be the cheapest way to put a small crew on one schedule. On price the comparison is one-sided. The real question is whether what Housecall Pro lists is worth what it costs for your shop.
Every figure below was read from housecallpro.com/pricing and kickserv.com/pricing on 24 October 2026.
How each one sells seats
Housecall Pro bundles a fixed allowance into each tier — one user on Basic, five on Essentials, eight on Max — and lists extra seats, at $35 a month, on Max only.
Kickserv sells bands — five users on Start, ten on Run, twenty on Scale — with no per-seat charge inside a band. Annual billing is 20% off.
What each size costs

|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $59 · Basic | $48 · Start | Kickserv $11 less |
| 2–5 | $149 · Essentials | $48 · Start | Kickserv $101 less |
| 6–8 | $299 · Max | $95.20 · Run | Kickserv $203.80 less |
| 10 | $369 · Max + 2 | $95.20 · Run | Kickserv $273.80 less |

| 20 | $719 · Max + 12 | $159.20 · Scale | Kickserv $559.80 less |
Month-to-month the shape is the same: $189 against $60 for five users, $329 against $119 for eight.
At five users the annual difference is $1,212 a year. At eight it is $2,446, because Housecall Pro’s sixth login moves you to Max.
What each one lists
The two pricing pages describe their plans differently, so this compares what is printed — not what each product can do. Check anything you depend on in both trials.
Housecall Pro Basic lists online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates and invoicing, payments and consumer financing, a price book, job costing and review management. Essentials adds routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports, employee GPS tracking, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync. Max adds a sales proposal tool, recurring service plans, route optimisation, open API access, a dedicated onboarding specialist and escalated phone support.
Kickserv Start lists an embeddable contact form, automated email and text reminders, more than 20 business reports, time and expense tracking and QuickBooks Online integration. Run adds dispatch mapping, GPS check-ins, custom fields and custom reports. Scale adds custom templates and review requests.
Where they overlap: QuickBooks Online, location tracking (GPS tracking on Housecall Pro Essentials, GPS check-ins from Kickserv Run), and review requests. What only Housecall Pro’s tiers list: flat-rate pricing, a price book, consumer financing, routes, job costing, commissions and photo reports.
Payments
Housecall Pro publishes a card rate of “as low as 2.59%” and 1% on bank payments. Kickserv lists Stripe as an integration and publishes no rate. Get Kickserv’s rate in writing before choosing it on price; on $30,000 a month in card payments, one percentage point is $300 a month — three times the five-user subscription gap.
Which shop each one fits
Housecall Pro fits a residential service shop of two to five people that prices flat-rate, offers financing on larger jobs and dispatches across a territory. Essentials carries all of that for $149 a month on annual billing, and the card rate is published. It fits less well at six to eight people unless you will use Max’s recurring service plans and route optimisation.
Kickserv fits a crew that needs scheduling, reminders, invoicing and QuickBooks sync at the lowest published price — or a shop of six to twenty, where its bands cost a fraction of Housecall Pro’s Max.
Before you buy either
- Trial both on live work. Kickserv gives 30 days; Housecall Pro gives 14 with no card.
- Test the feature you would pay for — flat-rate pricing and the price book on Housecall Pro; the scheduling and invoicing workflow on Kickserv.
- Get Kickserv’s card rate in writing and set it against Housecall Pro’s.
- Start monthly and move to annual after a busy season.
