Comparison
The best field service software for a three-truck shop, priced at three logins
Kickserv is $60/mo for five users. Jobber and Housecall Pro are $149/mo on annual billing, RazorSync $195, Service Fusion $208, and ServiceTitan won't say. What a three-person HVAC, plumbing or electrical shop pays for each in year one, what it gets, and which to trial first.
The pick for a residential shop that dispatches across a territory: Housecall Pro Essentials, $149/mo annual, with routes, GPS tracking and flat-rate pricing in the tier and the lowest published card rate. The budget pick: Kickserv Start, $60/mo for five users — about a third of anything else. If you will pass five people within a year, Jobber Connect at the same $149, because its sixth seat costs $29 rather than $150.
A three-truck shop has three people who need the software: the owner, whoever runs the office, and a field lead who needs the schedule on a phone. That headcount is exactly where the pricing models in this category diverge. Some vendors sell one seat at a time, some sell bands of five, one sells unlimited users, and one will not tell you anything until you have sat through a call.
So this ranking starts from the bill. Every price below was read from the vendor’s own pricing page on 24 October 2026 and costed at three logins. Features are listed as each vendor’s page lists them for that plan — not from a demo, and not from a vendor briefing.
What three logins costs, year one
The cheapest published plan that covers three users at each vendor:
| Vendor | Plan at 3 logins | Annual | Year one | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kickserv | Start · 5 users | $48/mo | $576 | $60/mo |
| Housecall Pro | Essentials · 5 users | $149/mo | $1,788 | $189/mo |
| Jobber | Connect · 5-user band | $149/mo | $1,788 | $197/mo |
| RazorSync | Team · up to 7 users | $195/mo | $2,340 | $225/mo |
| Service Fusion | Starter · unlimited | $208/mo | $2,496 | $245/mo |
| ServiceTitan | Per technician | Quoted | Quoted | Quoted |
Three notes on how those figures were built. Kickserv’s page states a 20% annual discount rather than an annual price, so $48 is that discount applied to $60. Jobber’s month-to-month figure is its one-user Connect band at $139 plus two users at $29 each, which beats the five-user band’s $199. And RazorSync’s Solo plan stops at two users, so a third login means Team.
The spread is wide. The cheapest published option costs less than a third of the two best-known products, and the dearest published option costs more than four times the cheapest. None of that tells you which one to buy — that depends on what is in the box at this price.
What you get for the money
Kickserv Start — $60/mo, five users. The pricing page lists what Start adds: an embeddable contact form, automated email and text reminders, more than 20 business reports, time and expense tracking, and QuickBooks Online sync. Dispatch mapping and GPS check-ins start one tier up, on Run at $119/mo for ten users. A 30-day trial, the longest here. Full Kickserv pricing.
Housecall Pro Essentials — $149/mo annual, five users. The tier includes everything in Basic — online booking, scheduling and dispatch, estimates, invoicing, payments and consumer financing, a price book, job costing and review management — and adds routes, flat-rate pricing, checklist automations, photo reports, employee GPS tracking, commissions and QuickBooks Online sync. Card processing from 2.59%. A 14-day trial with no card. Full Housecall Pro pricing.
Jobber Connect — $149/mo annual, five users. Core’s quotes, invoices, online booking, payments, website and reporting, plus automated client reminders, automatic payment collection, checklists, quote and invoice follow-ups, QuickBooks Online sync, and time and expense tracking. Card processing at 2.9% + 30¢. A 14-day trial on the Grow plan. Full Jobber pricing.
RazorSync Team — $195/mo annual, seven users. RazorSync’s standard feature set covers dispatch, scheduling and recurring jobs, estimating and invoicing, card payments, a customer portal, time cards, GPS mapping with driving directions and 1-on-1 training. Team adds QuickBooks Desktop and Online sync and advanced reporting and notifications. Route optimisation is on Pro. A two-week trial on the full Enterprise feature set. Full RazorSync pricing.
Service Fusion Starter — $208/mo annual, unlimited users. Customer management, estimates and jobs, scheduling and dispatching, integrated payments, QuickBooks integration, invoicing, project management, reporting and text alerts. Job photo uploads, inventory and job costing are on Plus at $325 or sold as add-ons. No trial; a demo. Full Service Fusion pricing.
ServiceTitan — quoted. A per-technician subscription plus a one-time implementation fee, sold through a sales process. At three trucks the implementation cannot be spread far enough to pay back. What to ask if you are considering it anyway.
The card rate is a bigger number than the subscription
Every product here takes card payments, and for a shop putting $30,000 a month through cards, the processing line is several times the software line.
Only two of the six publish a rate on their pricing page. Housecall Pro’s starts at 2.59%, which is $777 a month on $30,000. Jobber’s is 2.9% + 30¢ — $870, plus $12 across 40 payments. That $105 a month gap is $1,260 a year — more than twice what Kickserv charges for a whole year of software.
Kickserv, RazorSync and Service Fusion do not print a card rate on their pricing pages. Ask for it in writing during the trial, and compare it against what you pay today, including terminal rental and gateway fees. Kickserv’s Kickback programme takes 5% off the subscription once you process $1,000 a month through it — about $3 on Start, so choose it for the software, not the discount.
The ranking
1. Housecall Pro Essentials — the pick for a residential service shop. Routes, employee GPS tracking and flat-rate pricing are the three features a three-truck HVAC or plumbing office uses every day, and Essentials carries all of them alongside a price book and job costing. It ties with Jobber on subscription and has the lowest published card rate. Wrong if you expect a sixth person within a year: Housecall Pro sells no seats below Max, so the sixth login moves you to $299/mo.
2. Jobber Connect — the pick if you are growing. Same $149, same five seats, a strong client-communication layer — automatic reminders, follow-ups and payment collection. Its pricing scales smoothly past five: a sixth user is $29 a month. Wrong if you take most of your revenue on cards and are staying at three to five people; you will pay about $1,260 a year more in processing on $30,000 a month. The full head-to-head.
3. Kickserv Start — the budget pick. $576 a year on annual billing for five logins, scheduling and invoicing, reminders and QuickBooks Online sync. If the job is “get off the whiteboard and send invoices”, nothing published does it cheaper. Wrong if you need dispatch mapping or GPS from day one — that is Run at $119/mo, still cheaper than the two above, so price it before you dismiss it.
4. RazorSync Team — the pick at six or seven people. At three logins it is $46 a month dearer than Essentials for broadly the same job. Its case is the band: $195 covers up to seven users, so a shop that will be six or seven within the year pays nothing more. Wrong if you are staying at three.
5. Service Fusion Starter — wrong size. Unlimited users is the right model for a shop with a full office and the wrong one for three people, who would pay $2,496 a year for seats they cannot fill. Revisit it at four or more desk users. Wrong if you want a trial; there isn’t one.
6. ServiceTitan — not at three trucks. Built and priced for a shop with a dispatcher, a process to install and a budget for implementation.
How to choose in a week
- Write down the three things the office does every day. Booking, dispatching, invoicing, chasing payment. Match those to the feature lists above, not to the vendor’s homepage.
- Trial two, not five. For most residential shops that is Housecall Pro and Jobber. If budget is the constraint, Kickserv and one of the two.
- Run the trial on live work. Three real jobs, two real quotes, one real payment, done by the person who will use it daily.
- Get the card rate in writing from every vendor that does not publish one.
- Start on monthly billing. It costs more for a few months and buys the right to change your mind.
